Have I mentioned how much I love Pinterest? No? Not yet? Well…….I do! I posted a couple blog entries last week about some of my favorite Pinterest pins……and promised more……here is one I had fun with today! LOVE PINTEREST!

The *Tea Bags* below are simply sugar cookies dipped in melted chocolate. I embellished them with the pink string and a faux tag from my papercraft supply…….see my new dishes? I was the blessed recipient of Mom Wells’ Desert Rose dishes after she moved into the retirement home…..love showing these off! Now…..off to set some tea time dates…..

Joyfully In His Grip~

A poem for my SPECIAL Valentine:

Our Romance~

Twas the night before Sunday

When all through the bar

Oregonians were dancing

Some near, some far

When what to my wandering eyes should appear

A handsome young Oregonian

Buying a beer

Our love story started

Right there, right then

Joy Unexplainable

Least not by pen

If I had your attention

For a lifetime or so

I could tell you about the man

I’ve come to know

He is the best husband

Now the best dad

I am living the life

I wish all could have

Years later

We stroll hand in hand

Thanking the Lord

For His Perfect Plan

Together…In HIs Grip

What if you woke up today with only the things you thanked God for yesterday?

“In everything give thanks; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus”. 1 Thessalonians 5:18

If you’ve read this blog in the early days of this month…..you are aware that I accepted a challenge to document 1000 Gifts this year. There are no real rules as to how a person can document their gratitude….just that they do! The objective is to develop an *attitude of gratitude*. The challenger, Ann VosKamp suggests we document 3 gifts a day. Sometimes there are days that go by that I don’t get on the computer long enough to write a blog entry so I will take this opportunity tonight to document several of my gifts! These are gifts that I HAVE, not gifts I am seeking, want or asking God for.

Trusting Him Forever while In His Wonderful Grip~

FOR TODAY: November 16, 2010

Outside my window… It’s dark….it’s very late right now…..I can’t sleep for some reason.

I am thinking… about the fun we are about to have this week 🙂 Our son Jonathon and our daughter in law will be here Wednesday! We haven’t seen them since they were married over a year ago! They live in Boise Idaho and it is always such a special time when we are able to spend time with them. We will be celebrating an early Thanksgiving with them while they are here and also *Christmas for them* to boot!

I am thankful for…the assurance I have that my future has been sealed by my heavenly Father…..the creator of heaven and earth!

I am remembering: My mother right now…..this is the time of year she and I had such fun together. She is in heaven and I know she wouldn’t come back if she could! I certainly wouldn’t expect her too >wink< I just get nostalgic remembering her special ways during the holidays. See you soon momma!!

From the kitchen…My kitchen is one *bizzy* room right now! I am baking for this week when the kids get here. Tomorrow is roll making and pie making day!

I am wearing…my jammies.

I am creating…Ii am making our traditional picture ornaments for everyone! I will show pictures when I get them all done. My mom used to do this for our kids. Each year she would take their school pictures and put them on ornaments and date them. Today….our Christmas tree is full of the kids’ ornaments….from the time they were each babies until mom died. I kept up the tradition and now we have grandkids on the tree too! It is so much fun watching the kids *grow up* on our Christmas Tree each year. They really get a kick out of it too!

Noticing that: As I seek the Lord…..He is speaking so much more clearly to me these days. I love Him so……

Pondering these words:

In the last days there will come times of difficulty. People will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having the appearance of godliness, but denying its power.
(2 Timothy 3:1-5)

I am going…to continue getting ready for Jon and Alisha to come……dang…I feel like a kid at Christmas…..I can hardly wait!!!! Huuuuurrrryyyyyy!!!!

I am reading…The Bible and still a book by Ellisabeth Elliott called *Let Me Be A Woman* Words cannot express how much I love this womans writings……

I am hoping…Rita has a coffee fudge recipe in her arsenal too………tee hee 🙂

I am hearing… Selah singing Hosanna 🙂

Around the house…things are looking fallish…..:) Getting ready for Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite things…dancing around the house worshipping when my worship music is on……I love being a homemaker!!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Baking for the kids arrival and then I am looking forward to unplugging and soaking up some precious time with those kiddos of ours…..

Here is a You Tube video for a thought I am sharing…

“Break my heart Lord….with what breaks your’s….”

I am thankful for…to be called a child of God….I am just so grateful He picked me!

I am remembering: Holidays when my children were smaller….all of the excitement and joy they had waiting to see family….getting together with their cousins….it’s fun watching the grandkids grow in this too!

From the kitchen… oh gosh….I made Grandma Lym’s Eggnog Bread yesterday…..off the charts wonderful!! I also made jalapeno Stuffed Boneless Pork Chops last night….I will post the recipe today….very easy but very high yumminess quota!

I am wearing…my jammies this morning.

I am creating…Playing with my cards today….it’s time to make some more 🙂 I have several different layouts I’ve been wanting to try and today is the perfect day to do that…..it’s raining outside and the fire is cooking in the woodstove…..life is so good!

Noticing that: my grocery money does stretch as far as it used to at the markets…..:(

Pondering these words:

I can contribute nothing to my own salvation, except the sin from which I need to be redeemed.

— William Temple

I am going…to be getting ready for Jonathon and Alisha to come home for 4 days!! We haven’t seen them since last September when they got married! He has asked that I make Spaghetti Pie for them while they are here 🙂

You can see the recipe here—–>https://trustinghim4ever.wordpress.com/recipes-galore/

I am reading…The Bible and still a book by Randy Alcorn called *Lord Foulgrin’s Letters* If you liked CS Lewis’s Screwtape Letters….you will enjoy this book too!

I am hoping…Rita ….or someone will be able to find a really good pumpkin Fudge recipe for me! >wink< I love pumpkin Fudge but haven’t found a recipe I’m happy with so I have to drive all of the way to Sister’s Oregon to get some……not that that is a bad thing….Sister’s is beautiful!!!

I am hearing… A storm outside…..the winds and rains kicked up since I sat down to enter this journal….

Around the house…things are looking fallish…..:) Getting ready for Thanksgiving!

One of my favorite things…is reading my Jon Courson commentary bible…..it’s like having our pastor here at home with us!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Baking holiday breads and some candy making for Jon and Alisha. Hoping to put together a nice size *box* for them to take home to Idaho when they leave…..ohhhh our family has a thing with boxes!! 🙂

FOR TODAY: November 2, 2010

Outside my window… Scattered clouds…wind….rain….but unseasonably high temps!

I am thinking… about the election today….such an important day for the future of our country. Trusting God with the outcome….I know He is in charge of all that happens here 🙂

I am thankful for…I’ve lived in this wonderful country called the USA. I am thankful for many other things as well….but today…I am thankful to have been born here…and lived here all of my life….

I am remembering: An America when things weren’t so upside down….when bad was actually called bad and good was actually called good. Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!

From the kitchen… I was finally able to make one of my Grandmother’s holiday breads! Coming soon to a blog near you…..Grandma Lym’s Almond poppy-seed Bread……I will share soon!

I am wearing…Jean’s….pink cami, and a lightweight grey zipper jacket…..

I am creating…Aprons for little girls! Black n’ pink….with matching potholders and some other accessories to wrap up for Christmas gifts….I will take pictures and post soon….

Noticing that: Our Indian Summer is indeed being extended!  The weather has been strange but the temps are really really warm for this time of year here in Oregon…..

Pondering these words:

Ezekiel 33:2-4
Son of man, speak to the children of thy people, and say unto them, When I bring the sword upon a land, if the people of the land take a man of their coasts, and set him for their watchman: If when he seeth the sword come upon the land, he blow the trumpet, and warn the people; Then whosoever heareth the sound of the trumpet, and taketh not warning; if the sword come, and take him away, his blood shall be upon his own head.

It seems to me that the days for being afraid of what my family and friends might think of me are over…..the lives of some very precious people are hanging in the balance right now……for eternity…..time is drawing to a close for people to make a decision for Jesus Christ and I pray the people on my heart make that decision for Him soon!

I am going…to be canning grape juice the rest of this week. The Concord grapes are JUST now coming on here in Oregon…..WOW! I am usually canning grapes at the end of Sept…….here it is November and the grapes are just now ready!

I am reading…The Bible and a book by Randy Alcorn called *Lord Foulgrin’s Letters* If you liked CS Lewis’s Screwtape Letters….you will enjoy this book too!

I am hoping…I have enough jars to can all of the grapes that have been offered to me!

I am hearing… Election coverage on tv.

Around the house…things are looking more life fall, I have my winter *project areas* spread out all around me and the ironing board is up….a sure sign that Christmas projects are in the works.

One of my favorite things…is spending time with my daughter Ashley…..she is such an inspiration to me….that girl is one bright light and one salty bit of flavoring for us who know her!

A few plans for the rest of the week: Canning grape juice until the jars are full or I run out of jars…:)))) I love canning grape juice….the house smells like a Welch’s factory when I do!

Here is a picture for a thought I am sharing…

My beautiful daughter Ashley and her precious friend Vicki
