I’ve been MIA for about a week and a half and I finally found my way back to my computer to do some posting on my blog.

I missed last weeks challenge, boo hoo for me!!! But this week it’s pink, brown and green week at the Pink Elephant Chalenge!

Here is the card I made for this weeks challenge. I really love how it turned out and will be making several for different occassions and possibly with different color themes!

Happy Birthday in Pink, Brown and Green

Happy Birthday in Pink, Brown and Green

I started with double sided card stock in green. (5.5×5.5). Then I made a cut (about 1/4 of front) and used my edge punch from Fiskar. Then I added a strip of pink behind the punched edge. Used a layer of pink to matte some awesome pink brown and green printed paper. I used a nestability circle and ran it through my cuddlebug with the swiss dots folder. I backed the computer generated Happy Birthday with chocolate cardstock and punched three flowers in green and pink, using a paper punch, I made the flower centers in brown. Added a cute pink bow and voila! I am thrilled!

Hop on over to the Pink Elephant Challenge and play with us! I promise you will learn something!! http://thepinkelephantchallenge.blogspot.com/

In His Grip~

Thanks so much to the gals over at Card Patterns for hosting a weekly challenge! I am in heaven with these challenges! Pop on over to see what the participants are doing with this weeks challenge Card Patterns!

Here is the sketch challenge:

And here is my effort to create with it!

She's Here!!! Baby Girl Birth Announcement

She's Here!!! Baby Girl Birth Announcement

My Recipe:

1.  White 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card

2. Matted with Pink Gingham from Martha Stewarts Pretty in Pink Collection

3. Layered with a pink sponged paper with hearts on it from Craft Warehouse.

4. I used one of my Fiskar punches to create a lacey edge on some pink cardstock.

5. Oh my….I used some of that beautiful lace that my friend Darla shared with me. It’s got pearls running right down the center and I am going to cry when I run our of it! 😦

6. 3 pink ribbon bows

7. I used 3 sizes of nesties to create the *centerpiece* or focal point for this card. Isn’t she cute??!!

8. She’s Here! Tag I created on my computer and then just layered it with different card stock.

9. Finished off with 4 white glitter brads in the corners!

Ah……it’s time to go do some cooking! A girl shouldn’t be allowed to have this much fun in one day! >wink<

In His Grip~

It’s time for another Pink Elephant challenge! I have learned so much by participating in these challenges that the design team at The Pink Elephant put on for card makers! If you are new at papercrafting, I encourage you to jump in with both feet and just take the plunge with these challenges! You will be amazed at the fun you will have and who knows….maybe you will discover that you have some serious creativity inside you just looking for a way to express itself!

Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my go at it:

Tickle The Earth With a Hoe....And She'll Laugh a Harvest!!!

Tickle The Earth With a Hoe....And She'll Laugh a Harvest!!!

My recipe:

1. White card (from cardstock)

2. Navy Matte

3. Light Blue Gridded Matte from SU. I ran this through my Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss folder. I chose the grided paper in hopes it would give sort of a netting effect for the *vines* to cling to. 🙂 Works for me! Tee Hee…knowing that is what I had in mind for it!

4. Matted Tulips

5. I had to make a template and hand cut the two green scalloped pieces at the bottom of the card because I don’t have a Cricut…..ahhh…maybe one day!

6. Green Checkered Ribbon

7. Sentiment~ This is my favorite sentiment to create with right now! I just love it! I made it on the computer and just framed it with a medium green paper.

8. The vines….like I said…I don’t have a cricut so I had to fussy cut these by hand….as well as the leaves. My tool box is growing and now I know I need to find some leaf punches.

9. The *flowers* on the vines are multi-colored brads. I also added three springing brads on the bottom of the card to balance the look.

Now….I never intended for this blog to be all about card making, but listen…I’ve been bit by the papercrafting bug so this is how it will be for the next…hmmmm…..who knows how long!? If you’ve ever had even the slightest bit of interest in card making….do yourself a favor and give it a try! You’ll thank me later……or NOT! I find myself at Michael’s with my 40-50% coupons nearly every week……OIY!!!

I bet there’s a 12 step program for paper addicts……

So happy to be In His Grip~

I finally got pictures of these two cards to put up today. They are almost the same exact card but I changed around the elements and used some different matting colors. They make my heart smile 🙂

Joyfully In His Grip~

It’s been an emotionally challenging week here as my uncle passed away on Monday 😦 I am so thankful for the assurance that I will see him again one day so it isn’t *Good-Bye Uncle Dan* but rather….*see you later…forever!* I loved him so…..and his gentle but jolly spirit will be greatly missed through out our entire family.

It’s really late and I am not able to sleep this eveing so I thought I would take the time to upload a few new cards I made. I get so much satisfaction from creating them and sending them to friends and family members.

I have also rediscovered the joy of being a Chemo-Angel, and recently got my wings for a new assignment!! It is a volunteer angeling program where all volunteer angels get the priviledge of adopting a *chemo-buddy* and we send encouragement through snail mail on a regular basis. You can learn more here, http://www.chemoangels.com If you would like to become an angel yourself, or if you know someone with cancer who could use some angeling….you will enjoy this site.

Here are some of the cards I’ve been busy creating.

So thankful tonight that my loved ones and I are In His Grip~

I just found the neatest site! It’s called *The Pink Elephant Challenge* 🙂 They have a team of designers over there who challenge their readers to make prize winning cards.  Now I haven’t been at this card making thing all that long, but I decided to roll the dice and give it a try! Here is my attempt at the Black/Pink/White card challenge! I liked how it turned out myself! I know several friends who might like it for their birthday cards too! >wink<

Happy Birthday to one of my favorite *pursons*!

Sentiment: Happy Birthday to one of my favorite *pursons*!

I started with a 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card from Best Occassions cardstock: then added a black matte, followed by some wonderful checked pink paper I got from Martha Stewarts *Playful Pink* pad. I cuttlebugged the next black layer, then added some more of that yummy pink checkered paper. I got the ribbon from Michaels and the pink flowers from the craft section at Walmart. I had fun, lots of fun!!

Wander on over to the Pink Elephant site and give this challenge a try! You might win something!

In His Wonderful Grip~

I am in heaven right now…..I haven’t enjoyed crafting like this in a very long time! I have so many ideas with the wonderful graphics I’ve collected over the years and I love to finally be able to put them to use!

I made 3 more cards last night and was able to take the pics today because the sun is shining and the light is nice for it!

I probably need to post of few entries on *other* interests before too long though…..lest someone thinks I might be a little obsessive…..oh be quiet……I just like what I like! >wink<

Card #2

This graphic I purchased from PC Crafters

—->> http://www.pccrafter.com/ This is where I get the majority of the images I use in my digital crafting. I LOVE this site!!!! So many talented graphic artists here! The ribbon I got from Michaels and I just picked a nice font for the *Get Well Soon* and printed from my own computer.

I got this image from PC Crafters as well……such a great place to purchase graphics! I used my friend Denise’s Cuttlebug for the pink bubbles, ribbon from Michaels and the sentiment I created on my computer….

Gratefully In His Grip!
