A poem for my SPECIAL Valentine:

Our Romance~

Twas the night before Sunday

When all through the bar

Oregonians were dancing

Some near, some far

When what to my wandering eyes should appear

A handsome young Oregonian

Buying a beer

Our love story started

Right there, right then

Joy Unexplainable

Least not by pen

If I had your attention

For a lifetime or so

I could tell you about the man

I’ve come to know

He is the best husband

Now the best dad

I am living the life

I wish all could have

Years later

We stroll hand in hand

Thanking the Lord

For His Perfect Plan

Together…In HIs Grip

A *Latte* of course!!!

This weeks MoJo Monday Challenge:mojo78sketch

Here is my go at it :)))

I Miss You A Latte!

I Miss You A Latte!

I really had fun with this card and I made it with several different sentiments. Such as *I Love You a Latte* and *Take Time to Smell the Coffee*

In His Grip~

Phew!!! I am getting in just under the wire this week with my MoJo Monday Challenge! Below is the challenge sketch:mojo77sketch

And here is my try at it!

The Best Place to be...is together!

The Best Place to be...is together!

Have a fantastic Friday everyone! The sun is shining here in the Pacific Northwest and we might get to be outdoors this weekend! Woot Woot!

In His Loving Grip~

The first Monday of every month I take  class from a friend of mine who teaches card making, her name is Denise and she is da bomb!!!!! She designs for Sheetload each month and she makes some of the most gorgeous cards I’ve ever seen in my life…..and she lives right here in my hometown! Yup……lucky me!!!!! Anyway….she helped me with a template for a card I’ve been wanting to make to welcome new arrivals >wink< You can see both color versions below…..
Welcome Baby Boy!

Welcome Baby Boy!Welcome Baby Girl!

Welcome Baby Girl!

I loved how these two cards turned out! Thanks Denise !!! I love you man….I mean friend!

I was also asked to make a card for a young man…29 years old. That was an easy one for me because I have a 29 year old son! I knew I couldn’t use pink, fluff, lace and stuff like that so here is what I came up with….

Happy Birthday Masculine*ish*

At class on Monday….we got to make two of the CUTEST cards!!! The first one below is an Easter Egg card and I’ve made dozens this week already…in all kinds of colors! The second is a take off of Denise’s original….she taught us how to make a folded card…I don’t know the technical term for it…..it had several folds…..so so cute but I didn’t want to re-create it with so many folds so I did it straight up with a standard sized card. I LOVE the feel of this card and you can see on the bottom, there is room for a sentiment….I left it blank bcause I wanted to be able to put what I wanted there for that special reason or occassion. Again….thanks Denise for all the fun and inspiration you provide us!

I hope you enjoyed my parade of cards tonight….I’ve got a lot of bloggin’ catching up to do……it’s been awhile!

Happily In His Grip~

At the risk of repeating myself…..I join these challenges because I learn so much about cardmaking from them! I found another challenge blog called MoJo Monday!  http://mojomonday.blogspot.com/ Each week the designers there present a challenge *sketch* and the participants create a card that expresses their own take on the challenge. Pay a visit to MoJo Monday and join us in the fun!

Here is this weeks challenge sketch:

Here is the sketch challenge:

And here is my effort to create with it!

She's Here!!! Baby Girl Birth Announcement

She's Here!!! Baby Girl Birth Announcement

My Recipe:

1.  White 5 1/2 x 5 1/2 card

2. Matted with Pink Gingham from Martha Stewarts Pretty in Pink Collection

3. Layered with a pink sponged paper with hearts on it from Craft Warehouse.

4. I used one of my Fiskar punches to create a lacey edge on some pink cardstock.

5. Oh my….I used some of that beautiful lace that my friend Darla shared with me. It’s got pearls running right down the center and I am going to cry when I run our of it! 😦

6. 3 pink ribbon bows

7. I used 3 sizes of nesties to create the *centerpiece* or focal point for this card. Isn’t she cute??!!

8. She’s Here! Tag I created on my computer and then just layered it with different card stock.

9. Finished off with 4 white glitter brads in the corners!

Ah……it’s time to go do some cooking! A girl shouldn’t be allowed to have this much fun in one day! >wink<

In His Grip~

It’s time for another Pink Elephant challenge! I have learned so much by participating in these challenges that the design team at The Pink Elephant put on for card makers! If you are new at papercrafting, I encourage you to jump in with both feet and just take the plunge with these challenges! You will be amazed at the fun you will have and who knows….maybe you will discover that you have some serious creativity inside you just looking for a way to express itself!

Here is this weeks challenge:

And here is my go at it:

Tickle The Earth With a Hoe....And She'll Laugh a Harvest!!!

Tickle The Earth With a Hoe....And She'll Laugh a Harvest!!!

My recipe:

1. White card (from cardstock)

2. Navy Matte

3. Light Blue Gridded Matte from SU. I ran this through my Cuttlebug Dotted Swiss folder. I chose the grided paper in hopes it would give sort of a netting effect for the *vines* to cling to. 🙂 Works for me! Tee Hee…knowing that is what I had in mind for it!

4. Matted Tulips

5. I had to make a template and hand cut the two green scalloped pieces at the bottom of the card because I don’t have a Cricut…..ahhh…maybe one day!

6. Green Checkered Ribbon

7. Sentiment~ This is my favorite sentiment to create with right now! I just love it! I made it on the computer and just framed it with a medium green paper.

8. The vines….like I said…I don’t have a cricut so I had to fussy cut these by hand….as well as the leaves. My tool box is growing and now I know I need to find some leaf punches.

9. The *flowers* on the vines are multi-colored brads. I also added three springing brads on the bottom of the card to balance the look.

Now….I never intended for this blog to be all about card making, but listen…I’ve been bit by the papercrafting bug so this is how it will be for the next…hmmmm…..who knows how long!? If you’ve ever had even the slightest bit of interest in card making….do yourself a favor and give it a try! You’ll thank me later……or NOT! I find myself at Michael’s with my 40-50% coupons nearly every week……OIY!!!

I bet there’s a 12 step program for paper addicts……

So happy to be In His Grip~
